I frequently travel to Belgium and therefore have great experiences and found cheapest and quickest ways to travel which I would like to share…
When I first started travelling to Belgium, I mainly used Eurostar as I thought it was often the cheapest, easiest and most accessible. Eurostar is a great way to travel, once you arrive in St Pancras Station, check-in is easy to find and every time I have travelled with Eurostar, both in peak and non-peak moments, the check-in desks were always smooth and quick. Eurostar lounge in both London as Brussels are a comfortable have were you can wait without to much noise and distraction.
Arrival
Once your train arrives, a message appears on one of the many screens and everyone rushes towards the conveyor belts, however there is totally no need for this as there is plenty of time to get on the train. If you are however one of the coaches at the end of the train, it can be a very long walk! After travelling frequently via Eurostar I found it easiest to book a coach that gave me a short walk to my seat at departure and left me with a nice walk at arrival, this walk was not only welcome after a 2 hour train journey, it also meant that the huge queues at the exit had gone which leaves you with a stress free arrival!
Comfort
I always enjoyed the train journey on the Eurostar, it is rather relaxing to sit in a comfortable chair and watch the countryside pass by. The seats in second class are from a great quality and always seem to be kept tidy; there is also sufficient leg room which makes the journey fly by. After the more or less 2 hour trip you will reach the final stop Brussels, in Brussels you arrive in the Station Brussel-Midi or in English Brussels-central, from here you have great train connections all over Brussels and where ever you want to go that day, your Eurostar train ticket also allows you to travel on any of the Belgian train network.
